On the lighter side

*I'm leaving momentarily to surprise my brother with goodies for his birthday. I don't think he reads this blog regularly enough to catch this post before I'm at his place in ten minutes, so I got him two books about zombies by Mel Brooks' son Max. They look hilarious. Or, super serious to someone actually concerned with surviving zombie revolutions. Honestly? Once zombies are involved in my daily life, I'm out...you can keep your survival books

*We are then going as a big ole family (yes, the newf gets dragged into these events now too if only to find inventive ways to incorporate the word vagina into conversations for the sake of rattling my mother) to Morris East for dinner.

*Shannon is giving me attitude in the comments section of this morning's post. Just for that, here is a notable quotable from her that sums up everything about her that you need to know. Spoken proudly following a news segment on Hilary/Obama and a commercial featuring Gisele:

"Have you noticed they're really trying to bring back the supermodel? Now THAT's something I can get behind."

that was totally my feeling when i saw that last zombie movie when they all go to the mall to hide out and meki pfieffers girlfriend gives birth to a zombie baby.

i'm not sure i'm going to be searching for a survival guide while those things are trying to eat my flesh. just saying.

Zombies are awesome. Zombie II is my favorite, by far.

I got my brother the Zombie Survival Guide for his birthday two years ago, after discovering the co-ordinating website (which has since been taken over by random house and made all flash-y). In short, great minds think alike.

Thanks for the blog bitchslap. You know us PR people. All press is good press. ;)

Okay, I have to ask. What is your thing for Simon Pegg? This is the second still from one of his movies you've posted in the last week.

Not that I'm questioning your choice of movies, of course, because 'Shaun of the Dead' is about the greatest zombie movie ever made, but still...

Morris East is AWESOME! I heart their appetizers (bread dippers! portebello!) almost as much as the pizzas. Mmm!

Ashley: Agreed. I'd rather be the first to go versus running for days only to get eaten when I'm tired and cranky.

Poodlegoose: Zombies are the hilarious slackers of the monster world.

Shannon: We're in love.

Katelin: He's a good guy and I love finding things that are perfect gifts.

Wegrit: You know what? I didn't even notice or think about it! I LOVE his movies but yes, I might be overdoing it a touch.

Lauren: I am very full of organic, delicious pizza. That's the best kind of full.

As a proud owner of both "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z" and can tell you (with a completely straight face, of course) that both books are full of essential information.

....

Okay, I don't have a straight face. They sure are funny books though. ^_^

I'm with you -- when zombies invade my life, I'm done. Though a survival handbook sounds hilarious.

I hope y'all have fun at dinner and that your bro enjoys his present!

Wish I could've gone to dinner with you. I'm great at using the word vagina in all kinds of funny ways. Shocked?
